How the profit is calculated
- Coins = (investment − buy fee) ÷ buy price. The buy fee comes out of your investment, as on spot exchanges. In quantity mode you enter the coins you end up with.
- Fees = investment × buy fee %, and coins × sell price × sell fee %.
- Net profit = coins × sell price − sell fee − investment.
- ROI = net profit ÷ investment × 100%.
- Break-even sell price = buy price ÷ ((1 − buy fee) × (1 − sell fee)). Selling below it loses money even when the price went up.
The calculator works in your browser and sends nothing anywhere. Taxes and network withdrawal fees are not included.
Questions about crypto profit
Take what you get back from the sale after its fee and subtract everything you spent. For example, 1,000 USDT at 100 with a 0.1% fee buys 9.99 coins; selling them at 120 with a 0.1% fee returns 1,197.60 USDT, a profit of 197.60 USDT (200 USDT with no fees).
Yes. Enter the buy and sell fee as a percentage of the trade value. As on spot exchanges, the buy fee comes out of your investment, so you get slightly fewer coins, and the sell fee out of what you get back. Many spot markets charge around 0.1% per trade; check your exchange’s fee schedule for your level. Discounts for paying fees in an exchange token are not modelled.
Return on investment is the net profit divided by what you spent, fees included, shown as a percentage. A 197.60 USDT profit on 1,000 USDT spent is an ROI of about 19.76%.
It is the sell price at which the trade makes exactly zero after both fees. With 0.1% fees it sits about 0.2% above the buy price, so a small price rise can still end in a loss.
Yes. It works for any pair as long as the buy price, sell price and investment are in the same currency, for example USDT, USDC or USD.
No. The calculation runs in your browser; nothing you type is stored or sent to a server.
