What the result looks like
The summary comes as a set of tiles: return, maximum drawdown, how the bot did against simply holding the coin, and how often and for how long every averaging order was used up. Below them, a price chart shows each of the bot's trades.
Why backtest first
What you can only see before the bot goes live
See the risk, not just the profit
Drawdown and the time spent with every averaging order filled show where your settings run out of budget — before it happens with real money.
Compare with just holding
For LONG, you can see whether the bot beat simply holding the coin over the same period.
Tune the step and take-profit
With Backtest Pro, a single run tests 2–5 values of one parameter: averaging step, take-profit, number of averaging orders or multipliers.
No risk to your funds
Everything runs on historical data: no orders reach the exchange and no API key is needed.
How we calculate
No embellishment: what the model accounts for and where its limits are.
- Historical MEXC candles on the 5m or 1m timeframe, from 1 to 180 days. 1m history can be shorter — the result then shows the dates actually covered.
- Each order's price and size are rounded to the exchange's tick and lot size, just as a live bot does.
- Fills are conservative: a limit order executes only when the price breaks through its level. A mere touch doesn't count.
- The calculation always uses MEXC data, even if your bot runs on Bybit, so results on Bybit may differ.
- The model works on candles and doesn't reconstruct price movement inside a candle. It's a check of your settings, not a forecast.
From settings to a live bot in 4 steps
The same path you follow in the app
- Step 1
Configure
Pick a coin and direction, set the averaging step and count, and the take-profit. You can also load the parameters from one of your bots.
- Step 2
Test
Run it on MEXC history and get the summary tiles plus a price chart with the bot's trades.
- Step 3
Compare
Sweep one parameter and put up to 3 runs side by side — both are Backtest Pro features.
- Step 4
Launch the bot
The “Create bot” button carries the parameters from the result straight into a new bot form.

Backtest Pro is a one-time purchase from your Bybot balance, not a subscription, so it never renews automatically. Days follow Moscow time and the limit resets at 00:00 MSK. A failed run doesn't count toward your limit. Backtest Pro is separate from bot plans.
FAQ
What is a DCA bot backtest?
It replays your bot settings on past candles to show which trades the bot would have made and how they would have ended. A backtest checks your settings; it doesn't predict the future.
Is backtesting free?
Yes, you get 3 free runs per day. More runs, parameter sweeps and run comparison come with Backtest Pro for $7.99 per 30 days.
Do I need an API key or a deposit?
No. You don't need an exchange API key — a Bybot account is enough. No real money or orders are involved, and you set the order size yourself.
Which coins and periods are available?
Popular MEXC spot pairs (see the app for the current list), on the 5m or 1m timeframe, for 1 to 180 days.
My bot runs on Bybit. Can I still use the backtest?
The calculation always uses MEXC candles. For pairs traded on both exchanges the picture will be close, but not identical.
How accurate is the result?
Prices and sizes are rounded to the exchange's steps, and a limit order fills only when the price breaks through its level. Still, price movement inside a candle and real-market slippage are not fully modeled, so past results don't guarantee future ones.
How does Backtest Pro work?
It's a one-time purchase from your Bybot balance that lasts 30 days, with no auto-renewal. Buy it again while it's still active and another 30 days are added to the current term.
How long are results stored?
Run history is kept for 10 days on both Free and Pro.
