How the DCA calculator works

  • Recurring buy = the amount is bought at the daily close (UTC) of every scheduled day, from the start date to the end date; with today as the end, the last buy is yesterday’s close. A monthly plan keeps the day of the month; on shorter months it uses the last day.
  • Total invested = number of buys × amount. Each buy fee comes out of that buy, so you get slightly fewer coins, as on spot exchanges.
  • Avg price = the average price you bought at: total invested minus fees, ÷ coins bought.
  • Worth now = coins bought × the latest price, or × the close of the end date if it is in the past. Profit = worth now − total invested.

Averaging plan and My buys

  • Planned levels = entry price × (1 − step % × level number), as Bybot’s DCA bot places them: with a 2% step, 100 → 98 → 96. The first averaging order equals the order size; each next one is the previous × the volume multiplier.
  • Average entry price = total invested ÷ coins, so bigger buys weigh more than a plain average of prices.
  • Break-even price = total invested ÷ (coins × (1 − sell fee)), where the coins are already reduced by the buy fees.
  • Target sell price = break-even price × (1 + target %), so the target is your profit after all fees.

Prices are daily candles in USDT from public exchange market data. Your browser requests only the coin and the dates; amounts stay on your device. Past results do not predict future returns. In the Bybot app the target profit is set from the average purchase price, before fees. Bybot DCA bot settings

Questions about DCA

Buying a fixed amount of an asset on a schedule, for example 100 USDT of Bitcoin every week, whatever the price. You buy more coins when the price is low and fewer when it is high, and you do not have to pick the moment to invest.
Choose a coin, the amount per buy, how often you buy, and the start and end dates (the end is today by default). The calculator replays your plan on daily closing prices and shows the total invested, coins bought, average cost, what they are worth at the latest price, and your profit or loss.
It depends on the period. A lump sum does better when the price mostly rises after you buy; DCA does better when it falls first and recovers later. Past results do not predict future returns.
Over long periods daily, weekly and monthly plans usually end close to each other; the length of the plan matters more than the frequency. Compare them on the same dates in the calculator. Mind the fees: many small buys pay the same percentage as a few big ones.
From public exchange market data: daily candles in USDT, closing at 00:00 UTC. A start date before the coin was listed begins on its first trading day.
My buys gives the average entry price, break-even and take-profit price for buys you already made. Averaging plan shows the orders a DCA bot places as the price falls: each level is one more step below the entry, and from the second averaging each order is bigger by the volume multiplier.
A schedule buys at any price. Bybot’s DCA bot buys more as the price falls, at the levels you set, and sells the whole position at your target profit, on Bybit, Binance, MEXC, BingX, Hyperliquid and Pionex, through an API key without withdrawal rights.
The amounts and fees you type stay in your browser. To load prices, your browser requests the coin’s daily candles from a public market-data service, which sees that request like any website visit.
